An article published by The Irish Times this week has outlined a number of problems landlords have experienced in claiming the Residential Premises Rental Income Relief (RPRIR). This is the first year it is available since it was announced in 2023.
Due to a technical glitch, some landlords had their tax credit miscalculated by Revenue, resulting in a tax credit of €120 rather than €600.
The article also features an outline of the scheme, highlighting the advantages and limitations, by committee member and tax expert Brendan Allen.
For more information on landlord taxation, members can attend this month’s complimentary webinar where Brendan will give a presentation on the form 11 tax document. Form 11 is used for filing income tax returns for non PAYE workers and PAYE workers with additional income, and is a staple of any landlord’s knowledge of the trade.
