The IPOA has been receiving a high volume of calls from members and the public regarding the recent government announcements on termination of tenancy rules from 1st March next year. We wish to clarify: Current tenancies will not be affected by these proposed changes.
This has been confirmed by in recent correspondence between the IPOA and the government in which they stated: “Landlords with existing tenancies will retain the right to terminate a tenancy in accordance with the provisions set out in the Residential Tenancies Acts at the time the tenancy was established.”
This is a direct confirmation from the government, and we encourage all landlords and tenants to refer to official sources for accurate information.
