RTB Annual Registration Coming – 4th April 2022

March 2022 RTB Annual Tenancy Registration is coming into effect from the 4th of April 2022.   This means that landlords must register their tenancy every year, within one month of the anniversary of when that tenancy began. This change will apply to new and existing tenancies. There is a four-month transition period, when no late fees will be charged. This transition period will end on the 3rd of August 2022. March 2022 The Electricity Costs (Domestic Electricity Accounts) Emergency Measures Act 2022 was signed into law on 04 March 2022 establishing the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme which will allow for €200 (inclusive of VAT) to be credited to all domestic electricity accounts. The €176.22 credit line (ex VAT) is the amount consumers will see as a credit line item on their bills. Residential Tenancies (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 2021 – Commenced

11th December, 2021 The Residential Tenancies (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 2021 commenced on the 11th December 2021. From 11th December 2021 restricts rent increases in Rent Pressure Zones from exceeding general inflation and will be subject to a cap of 2% per year on a pro rata basis, where HICP inflation is higher. provide for tenancies of unlimited duration providing security of tenure for tenants. More Changes On The Way For Landlords – The Residential Tenancies (Amendment) (No.2) Bill 2021
