IPOA welcomed 250 Members to the Aisling Hotel on the 2nd of July 2019 to receive information on new landlord legislation now in place. July 2019 The following list of 19 Local Electoral Areas have been designated Rent Pressure Zones: – The full list of the 19 new LEAs across 11 counties are; Meath: Kells, Trim Louth: Ardee, Dundalk South, Dundalk – Carlingford Wicklow: Arklow Galway: Athenry/Ornamore, Gort/Kinvara Wexford: Gorey Cork; Midleton, Fermoy Laois: Portlaoise, Graiguecullen/Portarlington Waterford: Waterford City East, Waterford City South Westmeath: Athlone Limerick: Limerick City West, Limerick City North Kilkenny: Kilkenny   Properties that have not had a tenancy for a period of two years prior to the immediate tenancy date are exempt from the RPZ Rules. Reminder To Landlords – BER Certificates

A Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate is similar to the energy label for household appliances. From January 2009, a BER Certificate is compulsory for all buildings being constructed, or offered for sale or rent. The certificate rates your building on a scale of A-G. A-rated homes are the most energy efficient and will tend to have the lowest energy bills. G-rated are the least energy efficient.
